About Ken Heard

Ken Heard is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is an artist who has been exploring his creative abilities since he was ten years old when he drew the entire nativity scene backdrop at the school where his mother taught.

While attending Lee High School and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Ken produced ceramics and wood carvings and took painting courses. Since that time, he has continued to broaden his visions and enhance his skills preferring not to concentrate on only one medium.

"Heard works in oil, acrylic, watercolor and quoache with equal facility . . . His first one-man exhibition reveals an artist with a deep sense of commitment and a personal involvement in creativity that makes his work stand out in a crowd."
Anne Price, Art Critic
Sunday Advocate Newspaper
Baton Rouge, LA

Recently Ken has added block prints and serigraphs to his repertoire. He has two children - a son, Brighton, and a daughter, Melisa. He owns and operates Heard Tree Service in Baton Rouge.

  • River Road Show ( National ) - Baton Rouge, LA
  • Texas and It's Neighbors ( International ) - Irving, TX
  • International Watercolor Exhibit - New Orleans, LA

Ken's work appears in "A Study of Values" a book by Norma Roy who, both as teacher and friend, has been a major influence in Ken's artistic endeavors. His unique style and approach has brought his creations to the attention of many collectors and investors.
